Here is a list of the best open mics in San Diego organized by the day of the week they are on.  These are primarily for musicians.  Most of these can be found on a list online under “Open Mic San Diego”

Monday

PB Cantina

1466 Garnet Ave, San Diego, CA  92109,

starts around 8:30 pm

PB Cantina hosts one of the best open mics in San Diego.  Every Monday night they begin with a featured band allowing a half hour performance.  This open mic runs late so it could accommodate a busy schedule.

The host for this open mic is Jeremy Miller.  He has a website:  www.millertimemusic.com Jeremy is a master sound guy and a walking recording studio.  He records every performance on high tech Logic Pro software available to be mastered at his studio. He also plays keys in a Sublime cover band.

 

Lestat’s Coffee House

3343 Adams Ave, San Diego, CA  92116,

starts at 6:30 pm

Lestat’s has a good stage and sound quality.  There are very talented musicians here.  You really need to be here at 6:30 on Monday night to play.  There is a coffee shop next door so it may be a good place to mingle with musicians.

 

The Merrow

Starts around 8:00 pm

The Merrow has open mic every other Monday.  They do have it Monday on June 12th 2017.  Attendance here is sporadic.  It could be packed with musicians one Monday and empty two weeks later.  The Merrow is a great place to see live music.

 

Tuesday

Rebecca’s Coffee House

619 284 3663,     starts around 7 pm Open mic at Rebecca’s is hosted by my friend Kimo who is always ready to help out with a good beat.  Sometimes they even have a house guitar player.  Rebecca’s is a fun, friendly, laid back place for open mic.  They also have open mic every Thursday.

 

Queen Bee’s

North Park

Queen Bee’s has big cushy chairs, a $5 cover, music and comedy for their open mic.

 

This is all I really have right now for open mics on Tuesday around San Diego.

 

Wednesday

710 Beach Club

710 Garnet Ave, San Diego, CA  92109

starts around 7:30 pm

710 is a fun place to play out on open mic. They have a good crowd every Wednesday. They have a large sound board with a sound guy. They are right by the ocean if you would like to take a night time beach stroll.

 

South Park Abbey

starts around 9:00 pm

This is also hosted by Kimo, the beat machine, and it’s a fun time.

 

The Rook Bar

The Rook Bar has open mic every other Monday.  They do have it Monday on June 12th 2017.  Attendance here is pretty good.

 

Winston’s Beach Club

Winston’s in Ocean Beach has a good open mic every Wednesday with a good crowd.

 

Thursday

Clockwork is a quaint little spot.  Bring your own amp if you like.

Sunday

The Blarney Stone Pub

Starts around 8:00 pm

Last, but definitely not least is Blarney Stone on Sunday nights for open mic. This is one of the best open mics in San Diego.  It’s a Cheers like atmosphere where everybody knows your name. Hosted by BJ. Goes late till like 1:30. Sign up on line if you like at www.fb.com/blarneystoneopenmic
