Riccardo Gresino

Riccardo Gresino was born in Cuorgnè, Italy, on December 7th, 1992. His piano studies began at the tender age of 4 and in 2012 he enrolled at the “A. Vivaldi” Conservatory of Music in Alessandria (Italy) to study music professionally. He graduated with honors, after ending the three-year undergraduate program, presenting a thesis and performing a concert with the title “L’ Essenzialità Creativa di Horace Silver” (“The Creative Essentiality of Horace Silver”). He then continued his studies by attending the two-year postgraduate program in Piano Jazz. He graduated with honors in 2017, with his thesis,“#Musicsocial, Ritratto di Contaminazione ed Espressione con Colori di Robert Glasper” (“#Musicsocial, Portrait of Robert Glasper's Contamination and Expression with Colors”). In 2017 he won a students' audition at the “A. Vivaldi” Conservatory of Music, which allowed him to study abroad for three weeks at the Hodgson School of Music University of Georgia in Athens (USA). He also participated in the Berklee Clinics at Umbria Jazz17. After auditioning, he won a scholarship to go study at "BERKLEE COLLEGE OF MUSIC" in Boston; he began his studies in 2018. He’s performed alongside jazz musicians, such as Gianni Coscia, Fabio Morgera, Anais Drago and Paolo Tomelleri, and he’s worked as a pianist in some theatrical performances, including " La Ragazza con le Ali”, a tribute to Amelia Earhart, “ I Meravigliosi Animali di Stranalandia” , based on the novel of the same name by Stefano Benni, and “ La Masnà”, based on Raffaella Romagnolo's homonymous novel. In 2014 and 2015, in Turin, he released two albums in a Britpop project, with which he performed in festivals and clubs in northern Italy, including in the Collisioni Festival (Barolo). Now he is studying at Berklee College of Music and performing with different artists. From 2018 with guitarist Francesco Staccioli he started to write and performing original compositions. The purpose is to give voice to their music and that's why they created a collective of musicians from all over the world who brought other freshness to the arrangements.
